Internal Medicine Associates of Roanoke was founded in 1952 by Robert Hutcheson, M.D., who was later joined by Gerald Roller, M.D. The group was enlarged to include several more physicians including Charles Loftin, M.D., Michael Basile, M.D. and Diane Wiggins, M.D., all of whom have since retired. Robert Mountcastle, M.D., part of the original group, is still involved administratively as a partner of Physician Associates of Virginia, P.C.
