MHMR Concho Valley was established in 1966 and is the Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority for Tom Green, Coke, Concho, Crocket, Irion, Reagan, and Sterling Counties in the Concho Valley. MHMR Concho Valley operates as a unit of local government and has a eleven-member Board of Trustees who are appointed by its Sponsoring Agencies: Angelo State University, City of San Angelo, San Angelo ISD and Tom Green County.

The Board of Trustees represents the community and plays a key role in assuring the accountability of the center's health care services and its financial strength. MHMR Concho Valley plays a vital role in the Concho Valley as we provide community-based services to persons with mental illness, intellectual & developmental disabilities (IDD), autism, and substance use disorders in Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Reagan, Sterling, and Tom Green Counties. As the Local Mental Health & Local Intellectual & Developmental Disability Authority, we are there to assist people with getting the right service or support at the right time with the right intensity.MHMR Concho Valley strives to be a Trauma-Informed organization.

In accordance with the Health and Human Services Commission Services Performance Contract, MHMR Services for the Concho Valley is accepting applications for members to serve on the Planning and Network Advisory Committee. This committee is formed to strengthen communication between all stakeholders.
