The Sweeny Hospital District is the major health care supplier in southwestern Brazoria County, with Sweeny Community Hospital SCH leading the way in delivering convenient, cost-effective care. Not that the Surgery Department was ever closed, but no surgeries have been scheduled in the department since September 2006. This was due to no surgeons practicing in Sweeny.
