Centre Volunteers In Medicine Centre Volunteers in Medicine will serve and advocate for the medically underserved individuals living or working in Centre County. Centre Volunteers in Medicine has a tremendous impact on the lives of the people we serve. Our volunteers have rewritten countless stories of despair into stories of hope and recovery: one patient's smile is restored, and along with it her comfort and confidence; another recovers quickly from an illness and returns to work, once again able to provide for her children; another is able to manage his diabetes and live a fuller, more active life.

Our Story
Report
The first Volunteers in Medicine Clinic opened in Hilton Head, South Carolina, in 1991. The clinics were based on the help of volunteers to provide a caring and compassionate medical home for those who do not qualify for medical assistance and are working without health care benefits. A group of local citizens led by Rev. Joe Faulkner got together to address the health care needs in our community.
Capital Campaign
Report
If you are committed to the goals of CVIM and would like to make a gift, please explore the options below. The limitation of space at the current 6,700 square foot site has greatly hindered CVIM from increasing our volume of patient care in line with need, growing education and wellness programming, starting new programs, and bringing additional volunteers on board.
For Patients
Report
Much like family practice, we provide primary care, offering physical exams, responding to acute illnesses such as the flu or sinus infections, helping patients manage chronic diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure, and providing a range of women's health services. CVIM is high-quality, personalized care that helps our patients live longer, better, and more productive lives.
Behavioral Health
Report
Centre Volunteers in Medicine formally introduced the Integrated Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) program in September of 2019. The goal of this program is to provide high-quality behavioral health care embedded within the primary medical care clinic in order to maximize both the physical and mental health of our patients.
