Cataract Surgery
Our cataract surgery removes clouded lenses and replaces them with artificial intraocular lenses. Using advanced phacoemulsification technology, we perform these outpatient procedures at our accredited surgery center with 98% success rates. Patients typically experience improved vision within days and receive personalized post-operative care to ensure optimal recovery.
Glaucoma Treatment
We offer comprehensive glaucoma management including early detection through tonometry and visual field testing. Treatment options range from prescription eye drops to laser therapy and surgical interventions. Our approach focuses on preserving vision through customized pressure control strategies tailored to each patient's specific condition.
Macular Degeneration
Our AMD treatment combines AREDS2 supplements with advanced injection therapies for wet macular degeneration. We utilize fluorescein angiography for precise diagnosis and monitor progression through regular OCT scans. Treatment plans emphasize vision preservation through both medical interventions and lifestyle modifications.
Diabetic Retinopathy
We provide specialized care for diabetes-related eye conditions through annual dilated exams and OCT imaging. Treatment options include anti-VEGF injections, laser therapy, and vitrectomy procedures. Our coordinated approach involves regular communication with primary care physicians to optimize overall diabetes management.
Dry Eye Treatment
Our dry eye management utilizes LipiScan diagnostics to identify meibomian gland dysfunction. Treatment options include LipiFlow thermal pulsation, BlephEx lid cleaning, and prescription medications like Xiidra. We develop customized regimens combining artificial tears, punctal plugs, and lifestyle adjustments to restore ocular surface health.

Questions
How often should I have comprehensive eye exams?
Adults over 40 should have annual exams. Diabetic patients require yearly dilated exams regardless of age. Those with family history of eye disease may need more frequent screenings.
What happens during cataract surgery?
The procedure removes clouded lenses using ultrasonic emulsification and replaces them with artificial lenses. Performed under local anesthesia at our surgery center, it typically takes 15 minutes with immediate vision improvement for most patients.
Do you accept vision insurance?
We accept most major vision insurance plans and file claims as a courtesy. Patients should verify coverage details with their provider before scheduling appointments.
What dry eye treatments are available?
We offer LipiFlow thermal therapy, BlephEx lid cleaning, prescription medications, and punctal plugs. Treatment selection depends on diagnostic findings from LipiScan and TearLab evaluations.
Can glaucoma be prevented?
While not preventable, early detection through regular pressure checks can prevent vision loss. We recommend annual screenings for adults over 40 and those with family history of the condition.
What financing options exist for eye care?
We offer flexible payment plans through CareCredit and accept major credit cards. Our staff works with patients to develop affordable payment solutions for recommended treatments.

Visiting from out of town and had a visual disturbance that concerned me. They got me in that same day which was already great. What really set the experience apart was the professionalism and friendliness of all the staff. From Rhonda at the desk to Andi to Dr. Kirk himself everyone was great. I work with plenty of docs and Dr. Kirk really stands out as someone who took the time to unpack his findings and provide resources and advice on what had been a very stressful occurrence. Can't recommend these folks enough. Thanks for the quick help!

Absolute perfection, front to back. Helpful, sweet, reassuring and utterly competent staff; Complete confidence in delightful and edifying Dr Kirk. I understand both process and possibilities. I can only imagine how beautiful the world will look sans cataracts and astigmatism. I've been wearing coke bottle lenses since I was ten.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had an exam in April and then in October I received a bill for that exam, which they told me I wouldn't owe anything and that insurance would cover my exam. Six months after my appointment is when I received the bill, and when I asked why I got it do late, they said that they switched systems and my bill got lost. The whole situation was ridiculous, and they had a hard time even explaining to me why I owed money.
I don't usually write bad reviews for places, I just quit going to said places, but my experience here made me so mad that I wanted to warn other people before they picked Kirk Eye Center as their eye doctor.
