Report
If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, you may be at risk of losing your vision since your body does not utilize sugar properly and, when the sugar levels rise, damage to the retinal blood vessels may occur. This injury to the retinal vessels is known as Diabetic Retinopathy. Diabetic Retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in working-age adults.

Cataract
Report
As we progress into our fifties, the lens of our eye can start to harden due to the clumping together of the proteins in the interior lens. This clumping of proteins turns the lens a brownish color, while causing your vision to become blurry, similar to looking through a foggy window. If this sounds familiar, then you have a cataract.
Cataract Surgery
Report
Once vision loss interferes with everyday activities, such as driving, reading, or watching TV, consideration should be given to surgically removing the cataract. Surgery may seem unnerving but rest assured, Dr. Cravey and the nurses at Kerrville Eye Center will take good care of you, making your experience as comfortable as possible.
