Reach Out and Read is a national nonprofit that champions the positive effects of reading daily and engaging in other language-rich activities with young children. Reading together promotes healthy brain development, furthers language acquisition, and helps families build meaningful bonds.

The National Comittee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) Recognition Program assesses whether clitnicans and practices support the delivery of high-quality care and are built on evidence based nationally recognized clinical standards of care.

Dr. Frank Stewart
Report
Dr. Stewart completed his medical degree in 1990. He then served as a member of the Army Medical Staff at Evans Army Community Medical Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He separated from the Army in 2001 and received an honorable discharge after 8 years of active duty service. Since that time he, his wife, Dr. Beatriz Gil-Stewart, and his 3 children, Paul, Hanna, and Maria have resided in Seneca, South Carolina where he as worked with the late Dr. William H. Lee, dedicating his professional time to the care of the children of Oconee County and its surrounding areas.

As a graduate assistant for Clemson University, Branden worked closely with the Joseph F. Sullivan Center in many of their projects to provide medical services to underserved and vulnerable populations such as the South Carolina Migrant Health Program, Best Chance Network, Clemson Free Clinic and the Walhalla Mobile Clinic.

Branden discussed the different stages of asthma and what to do for each stage. He also discussed triggers for asthma and how to help students avoid them. The nurses were also instructed to always feel like they can reach out to the child's primary care provider and the child's parent in cases where a child may be having a compliance issue or the child may not be responding well to their medications.
