The people at Coastal Eye Care in Astoria are extremely nice. I saw Dr. Thorsen and was very impressed. He is friendly and very knowledgeable. He did a thorough eye exam and answered all my questions. Everyone, from the front desk receptionist to the super nice tech to the doctor were friendly, patient, knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely go back for my yearly eye exam and to purchase new glasses. I highly recommend Coastal Eye Care if you need a good Optometrist.

I was referred here for a refraction by an ophthalmologist. They waited until the day of my appointment to call and tell me that they can't just do a refraction, even though I had a full exam three weeks ago. They wanted to do another full exam (and charge me for it). Also, they couldn't see me at the time we scheduled and I'd need to come later in the day. I was already driving! I moved appointments of my own and had to use vacation time. Hugely inconvenient.
This feels like a very disorganized way to do business and I will let the referring provider know how unimpressed I am. I would have been fine making the change if they had given me even 24 hours notice - which they require patients to give them.

I love having a quality, LOCAL optometrist team. When I woke in the middle of the night with shingles on my cornea, I received 24/7 care & access and made it through with VERY little vision loss. Can't ask for more!

Eye exam was first rate however the person who fitted my glasses was in a huge rush to get me to sign my credit card and get me out the door. I try only one pair of glasses.

I was very pleased with the staff, the speed in which I received my glasses, and the accuracy of the fit and vision of my new specs. The experience in their office was rather comfortable and not uptight at all. I will be using them again for my future eyecare needs.
