Your Trusted Healthcare Partner in San Diego's North County
Indian Health Council has been a cornerstone of healthcare for Native American communities in San Diego's North County since 1970. Our organization was founded to address critical healthcare gaps through integrated services spanning Medical, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Pharmacy departments. Accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) since 2001, we maintain rigorous quality standards while operating as a Patient-Centered Medical and Dental Home. Our dual health centers in Rincon and Santa Ysabel serve nine federally recognized tribes, combining modern medical practices with cultural traditions to ensure holistic care.

With over 50 years of service, we continue innovating through research initiatives like our California Native American Research Center for Health (CA-NARCH) while maintaining community-focused programs that address both immediate needs and long-term wellness. Our multidisciplinary team works tirelessly to uphold core values of professionalism, respect, cultural integrity, and compassion in every patient interaction.

My dad came here to get his COVID-19 Vaccine. I came for the ride. This is not the pace you would just happen upon. He arrived, he was given a note for his car told where to park. There was a lot attendant who motioned to him when it was his turn. He went inside. A temp check. Verbal check of symptoms. Check in with clinic staff. He was sent to sit down to review some paper work and make sure he really was a good candidate.

He turned the paper work in. They called him back. They reviewed the paperwork again with him. Gave him the quick jab. And set the 15minute timer. The nurse hung out with him, made sure he was a-ok and and didn't have any side effects. He left with good info. Was able to sign up for v-safe. It's a CDC program, where they check on him each day. Kinda cool. Great experience all the way around. You can tell the staff really care about the patient and their care. You have to qualify for services, but if you do, consider yourself blessed.

This clinic is modern and beautiful. The staff, is less than professional. And Esther Calac may just be the worst nurse in the history world. Accountability need be a must. Even on the reservation.

I've been coming out here for over 30 years. I've known some of the people who work there longer than I've known my own children! The doctors and dentists and especially my therapist are all awesome!
