After graduating from Cherry Creek High School in 1993, he attended Hanover College where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with majors in both chemistry and philosophy. After undergraduate studies, he returned to Denver for medical training at the University of Colorado. Dr. Rao graduated from the School of Medicine with honors and was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
