Minneapolis Radiation Oncology (MRO) has been a trusted leader in cancer care since 1982, delivering advanced radiation therapy to over 100,000 patients. Founded by Drs. Robert Haselow and Doug Olson, our mission has always been to provide precision radiation treatment close to home. With 11 strategically located centers across the Twin Cities, Western Wisconsin, and the Brainerd Lakes Area, we combine cutting-edge technology with compassionate care. Our team of specialists, physicists, and nurses prioritizes patient comfort while maintaining the highest standards in safety and clinical excellence. Over four decades, we've expanded our expertise in external beam therapy, brachytherapy, and stereotactic radiosurgery. Our commitment to innovation is demonstrated through participation in clinical trials and adoption of technologies like HyperArc for brain tumor treatment. We believe informed patients make better decisions, which is why we emphasize education throughout the treatment journey. Services
Radiation Therapy
Our radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays to target cancer cells while preserving healthy tissue. This localized treatment effectively treats various cancers through external beam and internal brachytherapy methods. Our specialists create customized plans to optimize outcomes for each patient.
Stereotactic Radiosurgery
Stereotactic radiosurgery delivers highly focused radiation to small tumors with sub-millimeter accuracy. This advanced technique treats brain, lung, liver, and spine tumors in fewer sessions than traditional radiation. Our HyperArc technology enhances precision for complex brain tumor cases.
Brachytherapy
Brachytherapy involves placing radioactive sources directly at tumor sites for targeted treatment. We use this method for cancers of the prostate, breast, cervix, and more. Our specialists employ both low-dose and high-dose rate techniques to match individual patient needs.
External Beam Therapy
External beam therapy directs radiation from outside the body using advanced imaging guidance. Our technologies include IMRT, IGRT, and 3D treatment planning to maximize tumor targeting while minimizing exposure to surrounding tissues during outpatient sessions.
Clinical Trials
Our clinical trials program offers access to innovative cancer treatments before widespread availability. Patients benefit from our research partnerships that drive advancements in radiation oncology while maintaining strict safety protocols and ethical standards.

May 10, 2020 Report
Dr Wattson and ALL the staff at MRO treated me with kindness and professionalism. Throughout my 38 radiation treatments, they accommodated every schedule change I needed due to my ever changing work schedule. I was happy to be done with my treatment, but sad that my daily interaction with these wonderful people has come to an end.

Polite, professional, responsive. Latest technology and treatment specs. But, doctor and staff were impersonal and seem to want to rush you through their system. I felt like a case number not a human being. If you desire compassionate cancer care, go elsewhere.

Horrible nursing staff no experience. They have no nurse managers for the whole company and it is being ran by someone who is not a nurse. The physicians give good care, but can not be fully done because supporting staff is not trained or educated. The nurses are not Oncology Certified Nurses.

I recently received 20 radiation treatments at MRO and I was impressed with the excellent care I received as well as the concern for how I was feeling from all the care professionals at MRO. Each day I was treated like they were there for me and they answered whatever questions or concerns that I had. It made what was a very stressful time of my life very manageable. Can't thank all of them enough!
