Services
LASIK Surgery
LASIK surgery uses advanced femtosecond lasers to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism by reshaping the cornea. Ideal candidates have stable vision and sufficient corneal thickness. Patients typically experience improved vision within 24 hours, with minimal discomfort and rapid return to daily activities. Our surgeons utilize WaveLight FS200 technology for precise flap creation and customized treatment plans.
Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery removes clouded natural lenses and replaces them with premium intraocular lenses (IOLs) to restore clear vision. Advanced options like multifocal and toric IOLs reduce dependence on glasses. The procedure takes 10-20 minutes per eye, with most patients resuming normal activities within 48 hours. ORA with VerifEye technology ensures precise lens placement for optimal outcomes.
Dry Eye Treatment
Dry eye treatments address aqueous-deficient and evaporative dry eye through diagnostics like LipiView Analysis and TearLab Osmolarity Testing. Options include Restasis, punctal plugs, LipiFlow, and IPL therapy. Personalized plans target root causes such as meibomian gland dysfunction, with lifestyle recommendations for long-term relief and improved ocular surface health.
EVO ICL
EVO ICL involves implanting a micro-thin collamer lens to correct high myopia and astigmatism. This reversible option suits patients with thin corneas or dry eyes unsuitable for LASIK. The lens sits behind the iris and in front of the natural lens, providing immediate visual clarity without altering corneal structure.
Refractive Lens Exchange
Refractive lens exchange replaces the natural lens with advanced technology IOLs to treat presbyopia and refractive errors. Multifocal and extended depth of focus lenses offer spectacle independence. The procedure mirrors cataract surgery but is performed preventatively before cataract development, ideal for patients over 45 seeking reduced dependency on reading glasses.

The staff and doctor were absolutely amazing! So friendly so helpful and so informative! I will refer them forever! I went in for a consultation and was in for my lasik surgery 2 weeks later! It was a quick and painless process and my recovery has been great! I am so grateful to them! Because of them I can now see without my glasses and contacts and my life is forever changed for the better

I cannot thank Dr. Wolsey enough for my now contact-less and frameless lifestyle. I have been dreaming of this day for 22 years and she gave me the reassurance to finally go through with it from the very beginning at our consultation. I also want to thank Dr. Carter for having taken care of me for one of the post-operative follow-up. Both doctors were wonderful at their craft as well as extremely pleasant to work with. I also want to thank each and every office staff and assistant I have worked with as each of you played a huge role in making me feel right at home in your facilities from the start.

My husband & I both had cataract surgery, 6 years apart at The Eye Institute, by Dr Wolsey. I want to thank every person from the sweet ladies at the front desk to the techs who were so caring when I felt anxious prior to surgery.and of course Dr Wolsey who answered all my questions and did my surgery. All were wonderful!

This is my only one star review. More than a year after my Corneal cross-linking surgery they sent me a bill for $4500, more than 4 times what they initially stated the cost would be and on top of what I had already paid. The doctors are good but the billing department is completely incompetent. My insurance will cover the procedure I received but they weren't willing to submit the claim in accordance with the guidelines set by my insurer.

I am over the moon right now. I had RLE surgery on my left eye this week and will have the same next week on my left eye. Staff are friendly, helpful, knowledgable, and efficient. Dr. Z is professional, friendly, informative, and very capable! I feel safe at The Eye Institute of Utah. Before, during, and after the surgery, I was treated very well. This place operates like a well-oiled machine. Everyone knew their role and worked hand-in-glove. Very impressive!
