Services
Diabetes Management
We specialize in comprehensive diabetes care for type 1 and type 2 patients. Our approach combines advanced technologies like continuous glucose monitoring with personalized treatment plans. Our providers have decades of experience managing complex cases, including pregnancy-related diabetes and challenging insulin requirements.
Thyroid Cancer Treatment
Our board-certified endocrinologists lead thyroid cancer diagnosis and management, treating over 700 patients annually. We offer non-surgical options like radiofrequency ablation and coordinate multidisciplinary care. Our expertise includes post-treatment monitoring and addressing patients' specific needs throughout their cancer journey.
Osteoporosis Care
We help nearly 2,000 patients annually understand and improve their bone health. Our services include risk assessment, fracture prevention strategies, and treatment options for osteoporosis. We emphasize lifestyle modifications and medication management to strengthen bones and reduce fracture risks.
Insulin Pump Therapy
Our providers are experts in all major insulin pump brands. We help patients transition from multiple daily injections to pump therapy, which offers more precise medication delivery. This technology improves blood sugar control while reducing the treatment burden for diabetes patients.
Thyroid Nodule Ablation
We offer radiofrequency ablation as a non-surgical solution for thyroid nodules. This office-based procedure shrinks nodules without requiring hospitalization. Our endocrinologists evaluate each case to determine if this innovative treatment option is appropriate for patients' specific conditions.

I started going there when my A1c was getting out of control. They helped me get it back under control, and gave me a lot of knowledge and support in doing so. They are a very "no nonsense" place. Get in there, get what you need, get out. It's efficient, and effective, and I can definitely respect that. They manage prescriptions effectively, they handle appointments effectively, they do blood draws well, and have treated me with respect. I've had no problems with them, and can certainly recommend them.

If I could give this place a lower rating I would. They had me come in multiple times charging me 50 dollars each time. I went to OHSU once and they had everything needed to take care of my thyroid. This place is money hungry and they are terrible people. I called and left a message to cancel my appointment and they charged me 100 dollars. During COVID while everybody is struggling this place sues me for the cancellation fee and has my wage garnished! All over 100 dollars when I called in time to cancel. NEVER EVER GO HERE!

I really appreciate Dr. Grady's knowledge, thoroughness, willingness to listen and follow up, and kindness. I feel like I'm in the best possible hands for my endocrine conditions. I have seen several other doctors at this practice over the years who are also excellent. I have been impressed by the staff as well. Many thanks!

If you are serious about diabetes care, PDEC is the best in the Portland area. If you are using a pump, CGM, or want to keep up on the latest in technology, PDEC is the place to go. I've been a patient at PDEC for 10 years so I've been treated by a number of doctors.

Richard Bergstrom, endocrinologist, at Providence St. Vincent's Hospital, is affable, patient oriented, and unrushed. I've been his patient for more than 20 years and always happy in my consultations with him. In fact, he gives a more thorough physical exam, and asks more pertinent questions, than most PCPs and other specialists -- a knowledgeable and likable guy who doesn't believe himself to be omniscient. Highly recommended. (The only negative is that the office seems understaffed, and the personnel rushed.)
