Optometrist

Dr. Freedle graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1985. He has practiced in Tigard since 1990, specializing in comprehensive eye care and LASIK co-management. His professional interests include vision technology advancements and outdoor activities.

Ann Slocum-Edmonds

Optometrist

Dr. Edmonds earned her optometry degree from New England College of Optometry in 1989. She has held teaching positions at Pacific University and City University, London. A humanitarian award recipient, she leads international vision care missions and focuses on community eye health initiatives.

Questions

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most vision insurance plans. Contact your provider to verify coverage before scheduling. We bill insurance as a courtesy but cannot guarantee payment.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Bring any current eyewear, contact lenses you're wearing, and your prescription if available. Fill out patient forms online before your first visit.

Do you offer LASIK evaluations?

Yes, we provide pre- and post-operative LASIK evaluations and co-manage care with local LASIK providers for comprehensive surgical vision correction.

What are your office hours?

We're open Monday-Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM and Saturday 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM by appointment. Closed Sundays and major holidays.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

Please provide 24 hours' notice for weekday cancellations and 48 hours for Saturday appointments. Contact us at 503-639-8844 as soon as possible.

Let me start off by saying Dr. Freedle is FABULOUS! He really took the time to listen, and was very educational. They have a good selection of eye glasses, and the eye technician lady seemed very friendly, and knowledgeable as well. Although, the front desk may need some more training. My main complaint was that for both my son and I they did not pre- verify our insurances. We ended up having to pay out of pocket when we could have paid a simple co-pay else where.

My vision benefits were also not accepted at this location, and will now be having to search again for a new office-after a month of waiting for my appointment at this location. This all could have been avoided if they had verified prior to our visit- especially when they ask for your insurance ID number prior to booking.

Office people were friendly but the optometrist Eric Freedle was rude and unprofessional. The website says they are LGBTQ+ friendly but he did not respect my pronouns replying when I said that I used they/them pronouns with "whatever" and continued misgendering me for the rest of my appointment. He obviously had not received diversity training and because of it I did not feel comfortable for the duration of my appointment. I don't think that the words "LGBTQ+ friendly" should be on the website if not every person there, especially the person you're interacting with the most, adheres to that principle/statement.

Best Eye visit, ever. I have been wearing contacts for over a decade with annual visits across providers and my experience with Tigard Optometic and E. Freedle, was outstanding. The visit was efficient, yet it never felt rushed. Freedle took extra time to get to know me as a person, my career/family/history, as well as provided more education and an overall experience that validated not just my eye health, but my overall heath. The visit was easy and all aspects of care provided.

My doctor was amazing during the appointment and when I had an issue with my frames they fixed it immediately with no questions. Cannot say enough good things about their entire office team! Jenny (Jenn?) helped me find the perfect frames for my face around my mask, and I cannot say how much I appreciate that. AND she helped me find my first even prescription sunglasses. She worked with my budget and my tiny face, and was just so patient while we looked for ones I liked. Thank you all!

My entire family wears some type of eye correction. NW Optometric has always shown us that they care. No matter which wonderful person you interact with you receive the best from them. They have worked with me on everything from broken glasses to payments. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great eye team!
