Birmingham Gastroenterology Associates was established in 1978. Since that founding, we have grown to a group of 14 Board Certified Gastroenterologists. As gastroenterologists, we care for patients with diseases and disorders of the digestive tract, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver and pancreas.Gastroenterologists also receive specialized training in endoscopy, a non-surgical procedure which uses a flexible tube with a light and camera attached to it to examine the inside of the digestive/intestinal tract.

Candace Arnold, CRNP

Candace Arnold graduated from the University of South Alabama in 2004 with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She practiced as a Registered Nurse for 6 years providing patient care in Intensive Care Units and the Emergency Department. In 2010, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing- ACNP and practiced for 10 years in the specialties of Gastroenterology, Cardiology, and Hospital Medicine. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialling Center and began working at BGA in December of 2021.
