Indiana Reconsturctive Hand - James Strickland Reconstructive Hand to Shoulder of Indiana (RHSI) provides comprehensive care for all conditions involving the upper extremities (shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand). Our experience, diverse training and specialization are combined with a caring and compassionate concern for those we treat. All RHSI physicians are fellowship trained and certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

RHSI is home to the Center for the James W. Strickland Foundation for Upper Extremity Research and Education. This Foundation is the 501(c)(3) charitable affiliate of RHSI, providing the financial and intellectual resources to support continuous innovation and advances in health information management through research and education.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment time so that we may address any additional registration needs. The surgeons at RHSI bring state-of-the-art diagnosis, treatment and care for upper extremity disorders. Specially trained and board certified physicians and their support staff use procedures to diagnose, manage and correct conditions which can literally run from the fingertips to the shoulder. Treatment of the hand, wrist, shoulder and elbow is a highly specialized field that deals with a broad set of conditions and symptoms. Many problems encountered in the upper extremity are amenable to non-operative treatments such as medications, injections, splinting, and therapy.

At Reconstructive Hand to Shoulder of Indiana, we provide a full range of occupational therapy specializing in upper extremity rehabilitation. The upper extremity is a very complex part of the body which requires a thorough knowledge of anatomy and specific intervention techniques. Services here are provided by registered occupational therapists, some of whom are certified hand therapists.
Dr. Sebastian Peers, M.D

Dr. Peers graduated Magna cum laude with a degree Chemistry from Wabash College in 2004. He completed his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2008 and his residency training at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan in 2013. After residency Dr. Peers completed a two-year fellowship in surgery of the Hand, Wrist, Shoulder, and Elbow at the Cleveland Clinic. He is one of the first three physicians nationwide to complete this type of comprehensive fellowship in surgery of the shoulder to the fingertip.
