Hilltop Medical Clinic (HMC) was started in 1986 by thirty-five local Primary Care Physicians. In 1986 the concept of urgent care was just beginning. Urgent Care Clinics bridge-the-gap between the Doctor's office and the Hospital, and they are much less expensive than an emergency room visit. They compliment, but do not replace, the person's Primary Care Physician. Our Physicians realized that Redding needed a Clinic that was locally owned and operated, so that the care patient received reflected the standard of care in our community.

I was born in Columbus, Ohio, lived briefly in Littleton, Colorado, and then moved to Thousand Oaks, California in sixth grade. I loved Southern California, especially after I could drive to Zuma beach for body surfing. In Redding you will occasionally see me in my green VW bug, my high school car that I drove on Decker road to the beach.

Internship took place at U.C.-Davis and family practice residency was completed in Redding. My wife Beth and I volunteered for two years to direct the Lambia Clinic in Western Kenya.

I grew up in West Central Minnesota about two hours west of Minneapolis, where I was active in sports, mainly football and track. I went to the University of North Dakota and also the University of Minnesota Duluth for college obtaining a B.S. degree in Biology and minors in German and Chemistry. I attended medical school at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine in Duluth concentrating on Family Medicine. For the last two years, our class transferred down to the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis.

Elizabeth Stratte began her medical education at Portland State University and Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Portland, OR, in 1982 and her M.D. in 1986. She then completed her residency in Dermatology in 1994 at the Oregon Health Sciences University School of Medicine as well.
