Coggins Louise W LCSW Raleigh Gynecology and Wellness, PA has been serving the women of this community for over 30 years. Dr. Frederick C. Heaton, our practice's founding physician, was a champion of compassion and professionalism. He left his busy obstetrical career in the 1980s and created a unique practice offering advanced gynecologic care for the women of Raleigh.

The practice has evolved over the last several decades, but it has stayed true to its mission. Our providers stay current with the latest advancements in gynecology, and patients can have confidence that they are receiving the most up-to-date care.

Contraceptive Care
Report
If you are sexually active and not wanting to become pregnant it is important to use some form of birth control, or contraceptive care. There are many different types of contraception available, but not all types are appropriate for all situations. The most appropriate method of birth control depends on an individual's overall health, age, frequency of sexual activity, number of sexual partners, desire to have children in the future, and family history of certain diseases.Women may also make choices about contraception based on factors like safety, effectiveness, affordability, and acceptability.
Emergency Contraception
Report
If you think you are at risk for getting pregnant because you misused your regular birth control method or didn't use any, you might consider using emergency contraception (EC). Take an emergency contraceptive pill (AKA the morning-after pill) within 120 hours (5 days) after having unprotected sex.
