Mercy & Truth Medical Missions began in 1995. During a medical missions outreach Cathy Gordon and Heather Jones felt called to begin a medical missions organization in Kansas City. The idea of going out into the world demonstrating God's love for people, reaching out and serving the poorest of the poor through the delivery of health care seemed unreachable.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We Believe that God is the Creator and Designer of the heavens and the earth (Matthew 28:19, Genesis 1:1). We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory (Matthew 1:23, Hebrews 4:15, John 2:11, Ephesians 1:7, Acts 1:11).
