The surgeons of Colorado Springs Surgical Associates have been involved in bariatric surgery, or the surgical treatment of morbid obesity, for over two decades. We strive to provide a complete assessment and care program for our bariatric patients, with preoperative evaluations from a nutritional specialist as well as a psychotherapist to ensure our patients are as prepared as possible to proceed with a their operation. Our surgeons are intimately involved with the preoperative evaluation and postoperative management of our bariatric surgical patients.
Colorectal Surgery
Report
The surgeons of CSSA have extensive experience and a strong interest in treating colorectal disease, both benign and malignant. When possible, we prefer to utilize minimally invasive surgical techniques for these problems. This may include the use of endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures for many of these conditions.
Hernia Surgery
Report
A hernia develops when the muscular layers of the abdominal wall weaken, resulting in a bulge or tear. This allows a small sac containing tissue, and frequently intestine, to protrude through the opening in the muscles of the abdominal wall. The inner lining of the abdominal cavity, called the peritoneum, protrudes to form the sac.
