Business Details
We have been providing podiatric care in Blue Springs, Missouri since Dr. Sheldon Fleishman established his private practice in 1973. Our founder earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Temple University in 1968 before completing his podiatric medical education with honors in 1972. We completed a surgical residency at the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, including rotations at Cleveland area hospitals and the VA Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas. Our physician served for ten years as the Medicare liaison for podiatry in the Midwest region, ensuring compliance and advocacy for patients. We continuously train podiatric students and surgical residents, sharing expertise gained from decades of clinical experience. Our commitment to staying current is demonstrated by annual attendance at national scientific meetings covering medicine and surgery.
We became an associate of the American Professional Wound Care Association in 2003 to advance diabetic ulcer treatment protocols. We hold board certification in foot and ankle surgery. Our practice adheres to the highest professional standards, reflected in our past presidency of the Kansas City Podiatry Association. We utilize advanced modalities such as Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) and custom orthotics to address complex foot and ankle conditions. Our goal is to deliver personalized, evidencebased care that resolves bunions, heel pain, and other podiatric issues while prioritizing patient satisfaction.

Services
Bunions
Bunions are complex forefoot deformities involving misalignment of the metatarsophalangeal joint, not merely a bony overgrowth. We treat bunions using conservative methods and advanced surgical options such as the Lapiplasty procedure to restore proper alignment. Patients experience reduced pain, improved shoe fit, and enhanced mobility after treatment.
ESWT
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) is an FDA-cleared, noninvasive treatment that delivers acoustic waves to injured tissue. We use ESWT to enhance blood circulation, stimulate cellular repair, and accelerate the healing process for conditions such as plantar fasciitis and tendonitis. Patients often report decreased pain, improved function, and a quicker return to activity without surgery or medication.
Orthotics
Custom orthotics are individually crafted shoe inserts designed to correct foot alignment and distribute pressure evenly. We prescribe them after a thorough biomechanical evaluation to address walking pain, arch strain, and overuse injuries. Patients benefit from reduced discomfort, improved stability, and greater endurance during daily activities and sports.
Podiatry
Our podiatry practice provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for foot and ankle conditions across all age groups. We diagnose and treat issues ranging from skin and nail disorders to fractures, arthritis, and diabetic foot complications. Patients receive personalized treatment plans that promote healing, prevent recurrence, and support long-term foot health.

Was not a very good Dr.said nothing about bone spurs i had.and other issues that other Dr's showed me i had in x rays.poked me real hard on the bottom of the foot, said."did you feel that ", i was sore for over a month. i'm diabetic, lucky i didn't get infection. Told me that he seen no signs of me ever having gout. I've had flare ups many times.wanted me to walk down a dirty looking carpet to the x-ray machine, bare footed.no good results from him.

For the past several months I've been dealing with hell pain and plantar fasciitis. Prior to seeing Dr. Fleishman I had been to another podiatrist who merely 'treated' me with steroids and physical therapy. However, I was still experiencing a lot of pain. A friend recommended Dr. Fleishman and I'm so glad she did. He was wonderful, and so was his staff! Very personable and thorough. He evaluated my feet, took x-rays and reviewed them with me.
He also explained my condition, discussed treatment options, and and how he planned on treating it, which did not involve rounds of steroids and physical therapy. After my appointment I felt very confident that Dr. Fleishman had properly diagnosed the problem and would actually treat my condition.

The support staff to this guy are amazingly great. But the doctor didnt follow common sense procedures. Like listening to me when I said that the E.R. said broken in 2 places. Or taking another xray before grabbing my leg and moving my ankle at extreme angles. Of course reinjuring the fracture. He also refuses to implement non-surgical treatment.

The staff and Dr. Fleishman are amazing. Going to a specialty doctor for the first time without my momma was so nervous and scared and the staff and doctor made you feel so welcomed and safe. Would recommend to anyone. They give you honest feedback and don't try to take advantage of you. They do accept tricare select also.
