Conditions
Report
We have redesigned our Conditions and Procedures pages to include more information about the painful conditions that we help treat as well as the X-ray guided procedures we can perform to help alleviate your pain and maximize your quality of life. Dr. Sakai is highly trained and has a strong track record of accurately diagnosing complex pain conditions.
Herniated Disc
Report
As a disc degenerates, the soft inner gel in the disc can leak back into the spinal canal. This is known as disc herniation, or herniated disc. Once inside the spinal canal, the herniated disc material then puts pressure on the nerve, causing pain to radiate down the nerve leading to sciatica or leg pain (from a lumbar herniated disc) or arm pain (from a cervical herniated disc).
Spinal Stenosis
Report
Spinal stenosis is a medical condition in which the spinal canal narrows and compresses the spinal cord and nerves. It's critical that a highly trained physician accurately diagnoses the underlying cause of your back pain and other symptoms since the diagnosis dictates the treatment options. At your first visit, ask our doctor about the following possible treatment options for spinal stenosis before considering surgery. Although a suitable program of spinal stenosis exercises may be helpful in the hands of a good physical therapist, it is not curative.
Degenerative Disc Disease
Report
If you are suffering from pain due to a degenerative disc, training and experience must rank high on your list when choosing a physician to correctly diagnose and treat your condition. Our caring, highly qualified, and skilled ABMS Board Certified and ACGME fellowship trained Interventional Pain Doctor can help.
