About
Report
Northeastern Eye Institute (NEI) is the largest and most comprehensive eye care center in Northeastern Pennsylvania. In response to changing regulation and a dynamic market environment, NEI was formally established in 1984 through the merger of several ophthalmic practices including those of Dr. Jerome J. Jordan, Dr. William J. Jordan, Dr. Arthur J. Jordan, Dr. William H. Kehrli and Dr. Stanley W. Boland. Beginning in 1994, the third generation of doctors hailing from members of the founding medical directors came on board at NEI.
Cataract Surgery
Report
Cataracts are a natural clouding of the lens of the eye, resulting in blurred vision. A common condition, occurring in 91% of Americans aged 75 and over, cataracts can be treated with an innovative laser surgery or ultrasound-based extraction performed at Northeastern Eye Institute's state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) by one of our experienced, board-certified eye surgeons.
Visian ICL
Report
If you have been told you are not a candidate for LASIK, or if you want to improve your vision without LASIK, then the Visian Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) may be right for you. This lens implant corrects your vision like a contact lens, but it is placed inside your eye for long-term vision correction, without the hassle of daily cleaning or regular re-ordering.
Glaucoma Treatment
Report
Glaucoma is a progressive disease of the eye that damages the optic nerve. It's caused by excessive fluid pressure in the eye and can eventually lead to blindness if not treated as soon as it's discovered. Fortunately, at Northeastern Eye Institute, we can diagnose and provide a variety of treatments for patients with glaucoma to slow down the progression of the disease and preserve sight for as long as possible. Everyone is at risk for developing glaucoma, but certain populations are more prone to glaucoma than others.
