Coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death of both women and men in the United States. Being able to diagnose this disease process accurately is the number one objective of the Baker-Gilmour heart doctors. We use various tools to be able to do this. One such tool is the use of Nuclear Medicine for diagnosis.

This is an invasive procedure done in a hospital setting. It relieves narrowing and obstruction of the arteries to the muscle of the heart (coronary arteries). This procedure is also known as PTCA, which stands for Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty, or PCI, which stands for percutaneous coronary intervention.

Known as Ankle Brachial Index, ABI is a non-invasive test that is done in the office. This test measures and compares the ratio of blood pressure in the ankle to that in the arm to determine how well your blood is flowing, which will help determine your risk of PAD (peripheral artery disease). The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) is the part of the brain that controls all of our involuntary organs (heart, lungs, blood vessel, bladder, GI system).
