The decision to recommend surgery depends on a comprehensive evaluation of the patient, including the symptoms, objective physical examination findings, objective testing and prior treatment. This is a very patient specific approach, which is customized to the patient, with the goal of relieving nerve compression and subsequent pain from pinched nerves.
Workers' Compensation
Report
We accept most Workers' Compensation plans. Dr. Kitchens is a highly skilled, board-certified neurosurgeon who has extensive experience treating occupational spine injuries. For over 20 years, he and his staff have provided quality care to injured workers. As a team, we work closely with nurse case managers and adjusters to provide excellent care to all of our patients with the goal of returning them to their pre-injury status as soon as possible.Office notes and other correspondence are usually faxed/mailed within one to two days.
Before Your Appointment

A referral if you participate in an HMO that requires referrals. If your Primary Care Provider will fax the referral, please call our office at 314-842-2100 prior to your appointment to confirm that the referral has been received. Some offices require that you pick up the original referral, please check with your provider regarding their policy.
SI Joint Pain Treatment

Dr. Daniel Kitchens is trained in the latest minimally invasive surgical (MIS) techniques, including use of the iFuse Implant System from SI-BONE, Inc., a medical device company pioneering MIS sacroiliac (SI) joint treatment. The iFuse Implant System is intended for sacroiliac joint fusion for some causes of SI joint pain.
