Comprehensive LGBTQ+ Healthcare Services in New York
Callen-Lorde has been a pioneer in LGBTQ+ healthcare since 1969, providing affirming, comprehensive care to New York's diverse communities. Our mission centers on delivering sensitive, quality healthcare regardless of ability to pay, supported by groundbreaking research, advocacy, and education. With over 50 years of grassroots heritage, we merged the St. Marks Clinic and Gay Men's Health Project to form the nation's first community-based HIV clinic, establishing ourselves as a global leader in LGBTQ+ health. Our team of experts offers primary care, transgender health, HIV services, behavioral health, and more, all rooted in a commitment to health equity and human dignity. We prioritize prevention, wellness, and culturally sensitive care, ensuring services are accessible through sliding-scale fees and insurance navigation. As an FTCA-deemed facility, we maintain federal malpractice coverage while advocating for systemic change through education and policy reform. Our history of innovation includes the Keith Haring Nurse Practitioner Fellowship and partnerships with community organizations to expand access. We operate three locations in Chelsea, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, offering integrated services like dental, pharmacy, and care coordination. Our crisis text line and mobile medical unit extend support to vulnerable populations, including adolescents and unhoused youth. Through annual events like the Community Health Awards, we celebrate trailblazers while sustaining our vision of healthcare as a human right.

The people here are wonderful and very kind. You can't ask for kinder people that know their jobs, Doctors and Front Office staff alike. I absolutely recommend this place. Just DON'T BE LATE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. Show up early and Remember its on Flatbush Avenue Extension, not Flatbush Avenue. Lol ooops

The healthcare is great and all, the people there are helpful and affirming, but they don't answer the phone and they don't return calls when you leave a message. This causes huge problems and gaps in my treatment there because it's impossible to get in contact with them. A couple friends of mine also go here, they've noted they plan their whole day around calling Callen-Lorde, it's so impossible to reach them.
