Through the vision and generosity of its founder, Clara Driscoll, Driscoll Children's Hospital opened in 1953, becoming the first, and remains the only, free-standing children's hospital in South Texas.

Our goal is to provide more care for more kids by making patient access more available and convenient. Our telemedicine services are customized by specialty to provide the right care, at the right place, at the right time through a secure video visit. Telemedicine allows patients to engage in acute, educational, and follow up care through a secure video visit without the need for an in-person visit with their doctor or clinician. A telemedicine video visit may include getting test results, prescription refill, evaluation, and treatment plan, all when appropriate.
