Consulting Ophthalmologists, P.C. (COPC) was founded in 1977. Over the past several decades, we have grown from three to fourteen doctors, offering comprehensive eye care in general ophthalmology and in all subspecialty areas. Our first offices were on the campus of Hartford Hospital. In 2001 we opened our Glastonbury office and in 2004 we moved our Hartford office to Farmington.

Report
Your eye's natural lens plays an important role in focusing images clearly on the retina. When a cataract develops, the lens loses its clarity. When the lens becomes cloudy, light rays cannot pass easily through it, and the image you see becomes blurry. Cataracts usually develop as part of the aging process, but can also come from eye injuries, certain diseases (such as diabetes) medications (such as prednisone), and genetic inheritance. A cataract may need no treatment at all if the vision is only minimally affected.
