Founded in 1978 by Dr. John Knelson with a staff of one nurse and one receptionist, we have grown into a large team of professionals to care for your children. Today Carteret Children's Clinic has three Physicians, three Nurse Practitioners, and an integrated Behavioral Health team led by a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Moorehead was born in New York and spent her childhood in both New York and southern California. After earning her undergraduate degree from the University of California-Berkeley, she spent 12 years working in graphic design in New York City. She earned her medical degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York and then Residency at NYU/Bellevue Hospital.
Appointments
Report
We schedule appointments from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday mornings. Saturdays are reserved for sick patients and emergencies. Appointments can be requested through the patient portal or by calling our office at extension 1. Appointments for routine physical examinations and problems of long duration should be scheduled well in advance. Our staff attempts to see all patients with minimal wait time, however, we ask for your patience in accommodating medical emergencies and busy days.
