Dr. Lovato is a 4th generation Oaklander whose family is originally from New Mexico and Durango, Mexico. He grew up in Jingletown and went to Lazaer and St. Elizabeth School. He attended UC Berkeley and went medical school at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He has been serving the East Oakland and South Stockton since 1997.
