He received a bachelor's degree in biology with Honors from Pennsylvania State University in 2001, along with membership in the Psi Chi National Honor Society. Dr. Hey went on to earn a doctorate in osteopathic medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2005.
