In 1987, three Maine eye physicians and surgeons-Elizabeth Serrage, M.D., William Holt, M.D. and Bruce Cassidy, M.D., shared a vision of bringing world class eye care and eye surgery to Maine and northern New England. They quickly recognized that to establish a world class Center of Excellence would require the synergy of their combined efforts working toward that goal.

Thus, they combined their individual practices and embarked upon a journey dedicated to providing the best routine and specialized eye care.

At Eyecare Medical Group, we're extremely proud of our Outpatient Eye Surgery Center, carefully designed and built to provide both patient comfort and the highest quality surgical care possible. Our facility meets the same exact standards as hospital-based outpatient surgery units. In fact, it was the first outpatient surgery center in Maine to be certified as meeting the high standards established by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).Our outpatient eye surgery center is also certified by Medicare.

I have been visiting Dr. Samuel Solish here and I've found the staff attentive, the waiting times were short, and the treatment was first rate. The examinations were thorough and the explanations were easy to understand, and they never hurried me. And as an added bonus, it's near the Portland Transportation Center, so I can travel most of the way via a bus.
