Free Healthcare Services for Lane County Residents
Volunteers in Medicine has been dedicated to addressing the health and wellness needs of medically underserved adults in Lane County for over two decades. Our mission centers on providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to individuals who face financial barriers, ensuring that economic hardship does not prevent access to essential medical services. Through a combination of volunteer expertise and community support, we offer primary care, behavioral health services, womens health care, diabetes management, and an on-site pharmacy that dispenses medications at no cost. Our eligibility criteria are based on income levels, prioritizing those earning between 85% and 300% of the Federal Poverty Level. With the help of over 500 volunteers, including licensed medical professionals and administrative staff, we deliver comprehensive care while fostering a culture of compassion and community engagement.

Our partnerships with local organizations and universities enhance our capacity to serve, and our reliance on donations underscores our commitment to remaining a vital safety net for the community. By integrating preventive care, chronic disease management, and mental health support, we strive to improve long-term health outcomes and quality of life for our patients. Our bilingual services in English and Spanish reflect our dedication to inclusivity, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder access to care. Through patient success stories and volunteer testimonials, we demonstrate the transformative impact of our work, both for individuals and the broader community. As we continue to expand our programs, we remain steadfast in our vision of a healthier, more equitable Lane County where no one is excluded from the care they need.

It is a nonprofit organization. It isn't perfect at times but they do amazing work for people that otherwise would have no heathcare.

No stars, because this was one of the worst experiences ever in my medical history. The doctors are only their for their own good, and honestly could care less about the patients. They threw it in my face that I'm paying ten dollars, and that I shouldn't even be seen for just ten dollars, so I should be grateful to be seen at all. I'm not the "minority", I'm the "majority" of people that come in "trying to be sick".

The doctor Dick Ob/gyn falsified his diagnose, said nothing was wrong and I was fine and it's all in my head. Referred me to see a psychologist, when I'm already a patient of a very well known psychologist in Charleston. Turns out, after seeing a REAL full paid doctor, I have ovarian cancer. Which is why I've been so sick for so long. So it's not all in my head. Their general doctors that are over 50 seem to be going senile.

The mental health care they provided my children did more damage than good the two therapists they saw were horrible. now my children have no trust of anyone in the medical field. the two female therapists they saw were in no way competent of treating children and have caused my children so much emotional duress and fear i would not recommend them even as a last resort!
