Corneal Transplant
Report
Diagram at Left This is usually due to a progressive disease known as Fuchs' dystrophy. Corneal swelling can also result from prior intraocular surgery. Infections, most commonly due to bacteria or herpes virus, can cause visually significant cornea scarring. Injuries can result in corneal damage by causing an opacified scar or a significant abnormality in corneal shape.
Glaucoma Treatments
Report
Glaucoma is a disease which may cause significant visual loss if not diagnosed and treated early. The most common form of this disease is open-angle glaucoma. The eye receives its nourishment from a clear fluid that circulates within, called aqueous humor. This aqueous humor returns to the blood stream through a drainage canal called the trabecular meshwork.
Insurance Information
Report
As a service to our patients, Mid-America Eye Center is happy to file both your primary, and when applicable, secondary insurance claims. Co-payments, non-covered services, and/or refraction charges are payable at the time of each visit. You may see a charge for a refraction (92015) on your statement and may wonder why this was charged separately from your eye examination or office visit charge.
