Our Free Clinic in Providence, Rhode Island is a testament to the continuum of care that is accomplished when medical volunteers, community partners and individual supporters come together in the belief that everyone deserves access to healthcare, regardless of income or background. With the volunteer medical talents of over 500 area physicians, nurses and specialists, and a dynamic team of AmeriCorps VISTA Members, our Free Clinic is able to provide an array of coordinated, comprehensive medical services to each individual patient, all in one setting.

The Rhode Island Free Clinic is a volunteer medical program that operates alongside a small full time staff. Staff at the Clinic serve to coordinate statewide volunteer corps and medical practitioners; provide patient and donor services; and oversee community partnerships and grants. By mobilizing a wide array of talented volunteers with a commitment to health equity, patient privacy, compassion and professionalism, we can ensure the quality and consistency of daily Clinic operations.There are currently over 45,000 Rhode Islanders without health insurance.

Our patients' free health care services are only possible thanks to our highly committed and active Volunteer Medical & Dental Corps - hundreds of individuals who believe that healthcare is a human right and that dignity should be afforded to all, regardless of income. The in-kind donation of time and talents from our volunteers varies from primary and specialty care to nutrition and exercise coaching, free dental services, event planning and administrative support.Together, we are an award-winning example of compassion in action, with many individuals working closely together to ensure the delivery of high quality medical care for each and every patient.
