Native American Health Center has been dedicated to providing comprehensive, culturally responsive healthcare services to the Bay Area community since 1972. Founded by urban Native American leaders to address systemic healthcare disparities, our mission centers on holistic care that respects cultural identity and linguistic diversity. We offer medical, dental, behavioral health, and community wellness programs designed to treat individuals as whole persons, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. With over five decades of service, we remain one of the oldest and largest Urban Indian Health programs in the U.S., operating through a unique partnership with the Indian Health Service. Our staff reflects the diverse communities we serve, ensuring patients experience familiarity and cultural resonance during every visit.We prioritize accessibility for all, regardless of tribal affiliation or financial status, and accept Medi-Cal, Medicare, private insurance, and sliding fee scale payments. Our Oakland campus includes 36 units of affordable housing, while our upcoming Flicker facility will expand dental care access and community gathering spaces. Through school-based health centers and outreach programs, we serve 15,000 members annually across 17 sites. Our commitment to cultural preservation and community empowerment remains unwavering, guided by the principle that healthcare is a fundamental human right.

Services
Medical Care
We provide comprehensive medical services for all ages, including pediatric and adult medicine, chronic disease management, immunizations, and preventive care. Our providers offer culturally sensitive treatment for acute and chronic conditions while coordinating care with specialists. Patients receive personalized health education and access to nutrition counseling programs.
Dental Services
Our dental clinics offer preventive and restorative care including cleanings, fillings, extractions, and orthodontics. We specialize in serving underserved populations with sliding scale fees and accept Medi-Cal. Behavioral Health
